I just got a pair of street machine 12's. I have a 400 watt amp and it sounds like they could really use more. What's the biggest I could go without messing with the longevity and sound quality? Thanks.

Thanks. Are these the dual 4ohm subs? if so! I'd reccomend the sm1000d monoblock by autotek, parallel the coils to make a 1ohm load, and then you can always back the gain down 1/2 way, and you will have more powerat hand if you ever wanted to upgrade subs or go to one stronger sub1 hope this helps.. you always want a little more watts than needed so your amp doesent work so hard to push your speakers

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) the sm1000 is only 500 rms he needs at least 700 if not 900 rms they will take it daily just fine. the sm1500 is perfect for them at 750 rms x 1 at 1 ohm. |
