Hi, new to the forum. Glad to be here. Just curious if anyone has clamped the DSC2K. I will be ordering one around the beginning of February, and am curious to know what the true output is on this amp. I know it is a beast. I seen it in action first hand. On two fully loaded Fi BTL 18s in a 4th order blow thru in a Chevy Avalanche guy was hitin high 40s with eyeball tunning. This was at 2 ohms 500 watts per sub. I was kind of on the fence about this purchase until that day, lol, my mind has been made up since. Sexy amp to boot. I will be pushing AQ HDC312 D2 in 2.2^3 Net @ 36Hz. Well, enough outa me. Any input is appreciated, and again, thanks for allowing me to join your community. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks man. I thought I was in a ghost forum for a min, lol. I will be ordering mine beginning of February. I don't have the knowledge or equipment to bench it, but I know a few people who do. So, maybe I can shed some light on the situation at that point. Thanks for the response.

PS- I gotta know man, are you really still bumping only two Crunch's? That sucks they quit making them in the middle of your build. Why not switch out to some Atlas's or Brutus's?

I'm on here everyday! Don't hesistate to PM me if you've got a tech question like this. Don't work for Maxxsonics, but I've been doing this for about 20+ years. Anyway, grab your multimeter, anyone should do, and hit up the digital designs website. They have an awesome desciption for anyone who has never done this before. This is where I learded it.

Check out the crunch archive section for a test that Performance auto sound magazine did on the gp sub. They actually plugged it in to the wall and it held. We put a pair of brutus 2600's on a pair of the 15's. No problem. Burped like a 146 in a street box! Wish they'd just bring them back.

This is exactly the information I logged in for today lol. I can't find a clamped test any where but everyone says they do slightly more than rated.

I regullarly compete with a guy known around the midwest as Tommy K. He's got an S-10 with one DD9510 and a Kicker 2500d and does a 151.5 on the headrest (MECA style you know!). Anyway, he switched up to a pair of discus 2k watters and saw a small increase! Don't know if he clamped it but those kickers put out over 3k @ 2 ohm and any increase should mean a rms of at least 1500 @ 2ohm for each amp, cause he's burping the kicker @ 1ohm. I don't see 2200 @ 1ohm out of the question.

That is what Mike S was saying. I read somewhere he told a guy the DSC2K is rated 2000 watts @ 1ohm on 12v, and 2200 watts @ 1ohm on 14.4. Just didn't know if it was truth or marketing, lol.
